One of Hollywood's most renowned producers is using his voice to make sure the past is never forgotten.

Branko Lustig, the Oscar-winning producer of Schindler's List, is also a survivor of the holocaust.

Lustig has vowed to use his career to tell the stories of the Jewish genocide, and is now in China doing just that.

Lifestyles has the story from Shanghai.

Some 30,000 Jewish refugees found shelter during World War II in Shanghai, China.

It's a part of history many people may not know...

But, 79-year-old Hollywood movie producer Branko Lustig is making sure that part of history is remembered, in his latest movie the "The Melanie Violin".

To be scripted by Chinese-American writer He Ning, "The Melanie Violin," will tell the story of a Jewish musician who flees Europe for Shanghai and falls in love.

For Lustig, who was held in the Auschwitz concentration camp by Nazi's, making the movie is a life long dream.

"You see, when I left the camp, then I promised to myself that I will make a movie to talk about us. We will never forget. That's the reason why I make it."

And, Shanghai's helping hand to Jewish refugees is a story Lustig belives needs to be told.

"Because you see, we will die very soon, many people already. When we die, nobody will be left, to tell those true stories about the camp. That's also we came here, slowly people will die, and nobody will believe there were people here, 30,000 people in these buildings, during the war, and the Chinese people helped them to survive. That's very important to say."

"The Melanie Violin," is a Chinese-American co-production and is expected to completed by the end of the year.
